Asbestos Removal in Surrey

SurreySurrey is a city in the province of British Columbia, Canada, located south of the Fraser River and north of the Canada–United States border. It is a member municipality of the Metro Vancouver regional district and metropolitan area. Mainly a suburban city, Surrey is the second-largest city by population after the city of Vancouver and the province’s third largest city by area, after Abbotsford and Prince George. Surrey was incorporated in 1879, and encompasses land formerly occupied by a number of Halqemeylem-speaking aboriginal groups. When Englishman H.J. Brewer looked across the Fraser River from New Westminster and saw a land reminiscent of his native County of Surrey in England, the settlement of Surrey was placed on the map. The area then comprised forests of douglas-fir, fir, red cedar, hemlock, blackberry bushes, and cranberry bogs.

Surrey is governed by an eight-member city council. The current mayor of Surrey is Linda Hepner, who took office on December 8, 2014. The last elections were held in November 2014.In the 2009 provincial elections, the British Columbia New Democratic Party won four of Surrey’s seats, all of them in the more urbanized north and center of the city, while the BC Liberal Party won four seats in the more rural east and south. In the recent 2017 provincial election, the BC NDP doubled their results in Surrey to 6 elected MLAs while the BC Liberal Surrey MLAs were reduced from 5 to 3.

Safety Procedures for Removing Asbestos

Asbestos was sometimes “flocked” above false ceilings, inside technical ducts, and in many other small spaces where firefighters would have difficulty gaining access. Structural components like asbestos panels were also used. In residences, asbestos was often a component of a type of flocked acoustic ceiling called popcorn ceiling or “cottage cheese ceiling”, until its production was banned in 1978.

Removing Asbestos should be done by a certified professional using special equipment. Vancouver Asbestos Removal is a Certified and Professional in Asbestos Abatement Servicing.
